How to Make an RSVP Form in Google Forms
Step by step, plus what it cannot do
Google Forms makes a free RSVP form in about ten minutes: add a few questions, share the link, and replies collect in a spreadsheet. It works well for simple headcounts. Here are the exact steps, the questions to add, and where it falls short.

Google Forms wedding RSVP tips
- Add one section per guest if you need a meal choice for each person
- Put the reply-by date in the form title so it shows in the link preview
- Print a QR code of the shortened link on the invitation; Chrome can make one from the page's share menu
- Turn off responses after the deadline in the Responses tab
What Google Forms cannot do for RSVPs
If you only need a headcount from a small group, Google Forms is fine. If you want reminders, a cap, or a page that looks like an invitation rather than a survey, use an RSVP tool.
| Need | Google Forms | SignupKit |
|---|---|---|
| Reminder before the event | No | Yes, automatic email |
| Cap total attendance | No, without an add-on | Yes, set a limit |
| Guests see who is coming | No | Optional |
| Change a reply later | Only if you allow editing | Contact the host |
| Cost | Free | Free for up to 50 responses |
