How ticket payments work
Connect Stripe once, put a price on a slot, share the sheet. Guests pay at checkout. You keep 100% of the price you set — SignupKit takes $0. Stripe still charges its card fee.
How the money moves
You are the seller. SignupKit is the signup sheet, not the merchant of record. When someone pays for a slot, Stripe Checkout charges their card on your connected account. The money goes to you. We do not take a platform fee and we do not hold ticket funds.
- SignupKit plan billing (Weekly Pass, Pro, Organization) is a separate Stripe account. Ticket money never mixes with that.
- You set refunds, handle chargebacks, and own sales tax. See Paid slots and ticket payments in the Terms.
- This feature is in beta. The flow above is what ships today.
From setup to payout
Four steps. Free slots skip payment entirely.

Connect Stripe
Sign in, then go to Settings → Ticket payments. Ticket payments are available in the United States only. You must be 18 (or the age of majority where you live). Connecting Stripe creates a US account, and prices are in US dollars.

Put a price on a slot
Create a sheet or open one you already have. Click a row (an item or RSVP slot — not a date or time header).
- In slot details, fill Price if you want to charge. Leave it empty for a free signup
- You can mix free volunteer shifts and paid tickets on the same sheet
- You cannot publish paid slots until Stripe card payments are ready. Free slots still work

Share the link
Publish the sheet and send the signup link. Guests see the price on priced rows.
- They enter their name and any questions you added
- Paid slots go to Stripe Checkout. They pay with a card. No SignupKit account needed
- If they cancel Checkout, they return to the sheet unpaid. The spot is held for a short time, then released

After they pay
When Stripe confirms payment, the signup is created. You honor that spot.
- They get the same confirmation email as a free signup
- They appear on the event’s Participants tab with the slot they bought
- Reminders and calendar invites still work like any other signup
Where to see amounts
SignupKit shows the price on the slot and who signed up. Dollar totals, fees, and bank deposits live in Stripe.
On the sheet
The price you set is on each slot — in the builder and on the public signup page. Empty price means free.
Who paid
Open the event → Participants. That roster is names, emails, and which slot they took. It is not a sales report with dollar totals.
Charges and fees
Log in to Stripe with the account you connected. Payments shows each card charge and Stripe’s processing fee. This is not the SignupKit billing dashboard.
Payouts to your bank
Stripe Dashboard → Payouts. Ticket money is already in Stripe when the guest pays. The bank deposit follows the payout schedule in Stripe (often a couple of business days). SignupKit never holds ticket funds.
Open dashboard.stripe.com with the connected account. Payments is each sale. Payouts is money leaving Stripe for your bank.
Refunds and plans
Refund a guest from Stripe for that connected account. There is no in-app refund button yet. You are responsible for your refund policy.
Ticket payments work on every plan, including Free. Free still limits you to 5 sheets and 50 sign-ups per sheet. Connecting Stripe does not unlock Pro features.

- Where is ticket payments available?
- The United States only, for now. Connecting Stripe creates a US account, and prices are in US dollars. Free slots still work everywhere.
- Does SignupKit take a cut of ticket sales?
- No. SignupKit takes $0 on ticket payments. Stripe still charges its card processing fee. Money goes to your connected Stripe account, not to SignupKit.
- Where do I see how much I made?
- The price you set lives on each slot. Who paid shows up on the event’s Participants tab. Charges, fees, balance, and bank payouts are in your Stripe Dashboard — log in with the Stripe account you connected, not SignupKit plan billing.
- When does the money hit my bank?
- As soon as a guest pays, the money is in your Stripe account. Stripe then pays out to your bank on the schedule in Stripe (often a couple of business days). SignupKit does not hold ticket funds.
- Do guests need a SignupKit account?
- No. They fill in the signup form and pay on Stripe Checkout.
- Can I mix free and paid slots?
- Yes. Leave Price empty for a free slot. Put a dollar amount on the rows you want to sell. Date or time headers are never priced.
- What plans include ticket payments?
- Every plan, including Free. Free still caps you at 5 sheets and 50 sign-ups per sheet. Connecting Stripe does not unlock paid-plan features.
- How do refunds work?
- You are the seller. Issue refunds from the Stripe Dashboard for that connected account. SignupKit does not refund ticket money on your behalf.
