Friday Set Up- 1pm- Help us get the venue ready for race day. Tasks include moving tables, unloading and unpacking supplies, helping with room décor, assisting with track and gate set‑up and decorations, setting up raffle tables, and organizing the silent auction area. Your support makes Saturday run smoothly — thank you for lending a hand!

AM Shift- Raffle Area- Help run the raffle station during the morning activities. If needed help bring tables outside. They will already be set up from Friday. Your role includes possible rearranging of the raffle items, organizing tickets, managing the money bag, answering questions, and helping visitors participate. At the end of your shift, please turn the money bag over to event staff and assist with transitioning the station to the PM crew at 12:30. Your friendly presence keeps this popular station running smoothly — thank you for lending a hand!

AM Shift- Sales Table- Help run the sales table during the morning activities. The table will already be set up from Friday, and we will carry it outside before volunteers arrive. Your role includes organizing shirts, buttons, and tug toys, setting out the pricing sheet, arranging display items, assisting visitors with purchases, and keeping the money bag and notepad updated as sales occur. At the end of your shift, please turn the money bag over to event staff and assist with packing up any extra merchandise so the PM crew can take over smoothly. Your friendly help keeps the sales area welcoming and well organized — thank you for lending a hand!

AM Shift- Registration- Help run the registration area during the morning activities. Your role may include: welcoming attendees, checking in those pre registered, assisting with day of registrations (which often continue beyond the morning), and collecting payments. At the end of your shift, please turn the money bag over to event staff and assist with transitioning the station to the PM crew at 12:30. Your welcoming presence helps participants start their day smoothly — thank you for supporting the races!

AM Only (8:30-12:45)- Join the Party Pack crew and help run our fun activity stations before the races begin! This includes serving Pup-pacinos (whipped cream in a cup), guiding pups through Pupcasso (paint and paper art), snapping photos at the photo op area, and helping with the helium filled walking dachshund balloon if available. The Party Pack costs $5 per participant, and volunteers will assist with collecting payments, keeping supplies organized, and making sure each pup has a great time. This station runs only through lunch, with a “last call” around 12:30–12:45 before the focus shifts to racing. At the end of your shift, please turn the money bag over to event staff and help tidy the Party Pack area. Your energy and creativity make the Party Pack a highlight of race day — thank you for bringing the fun!

AM Shift- Green Carpet Dog Show Judges- Help judge our Green Carpet Dog Show! Judges review dachshunds by coat type — long‑haired, wire‑haired, and smooth/short‑haired — and select the best of each category. You’ll look for coat quality, presentation, personality, and overall impression. This role is fun, interactive, and perfect for volunteers who enjoy evaluating pups up close. Your eye for detail helps crown our Green Carpet champions — thank you for being part of the show!

AM Shift- Costume Contest Judges- Help judge our morning costume contests! Multiple judges review each category and select winners based on creativity, originality, theme, and presentation. Categories include Best Dressed Male, Best Dressed Female, Best Group, Most Original, Look‑A‑Like, and more. You’ll work together to choose winners quickly and fairly so the contests flow smoothly. Your creativity and fairness make the costume contests unforgettable — thank you for helping us celebrate these amazing outfits!

If racing runs past 3pm, staying until the final heats finish is appreciated. Your help keeps the sales station running smoothly and ensures visitors have a great experience — thank you for being part of race day!

PM Shift- Starting Gate Crew- Help manage the starting gate and ensure dogs are released fairly for each heat. You’ll work closely with handlers to line up dachshunds and the MC to keep the gate area safe and organized. Your steady hands keep the races fair and fun — thank you for being part of the action!

PM Shift- Finish Line Assistant Judge= Assist the line judges by recording winners at the finish line. You’ll help confirm race results quickly and accurately so ribbons and bracket updates stay on track. Your sharp eye ensures the right pup gets the win — thank you for supporting the judges!

PM Shift- Ribbon Distribution Team- Hand out ribbons to winners after each heat. You’ll communicate with line judges to confirm the correct order of winners and celebrate each pup’s success with a smile. Your role makes every race feel special — thank you for cheering on the champions!

PM Shift- Bracket Board Crew- Volunteers move winners forward on the bracket board and keep the MC on track with the correct race flow. You’ll make sure the event follows the bracket smoothly and that each heat transitions without confusion. Your organization keeps the races flowing — thank you for helping the competition run seamlessly!

PM Only- Light Teardown Crew (~30–45 minutes)- Help gently take down event décor and tidy key areas once races finish. Your role includes carefully removing room and track decorations so they can be reused next year, assisting with disassembling the track, and double‑checking that all stations have packed up their supplies. Your help protects our décor and keeps teardown running smoothly — thank you for lending a hand!

PM Only- Teardown Crew (3:00–close)- Help pack up and close down the event after the races finish. Your role includes breaking down tables, gathering supplies, loading décor and equipment, assisting with track and gate teardown, collecting signage, and packing up raffle and sales areas. Please plan to stay until the charity races finish and the event area is cleared. Your teamwork ensures we end the day strong — thank you for helping us wrap up the races!
